In 1943, Guglielmo Papaleo, drawing on his past work experiences, made the decision to start his own business and found Caffè Guglielmo, the company we all know today.
In the 1950s began the actual production and sale of coffee. The first Guglielmo coffee bar was established, which offered for the first time a coffee tasting service that quickly became highly appreciated among the people of Catanzaro.
Demand grew to such an extent that Guglielmo Papaleo soon inaugurated the first roasting facility in Catanzaro Sala, then started in 1968 the construction works for the current industrial complex in Copanello (completed in 1972).
The new factory marked a turning point in production as the company equipped itself with state-of-the-art machinery and transformed into a joint stock company.
In the 1980s, a rebranding initiative resulted in a new logo and the introduction of the slogan "Il caffè che fa centro" - "The coffee that hits the spot."
Approaching the new millennium, precisely in 1997, Guglielmo Papaleo was appointed "Cavaliere del Lavoro" and the company celebrated its first 50 years of activity.
From then on, the Caffè Guglielmo brand has experienced constant growth: the company's e-commerce website Guglielmo Virtual Store was launched in 2008, and two years later the first Guglielmo Store in Catanzaro was inaugurated.
In over 80 years, Caffè Guglielmo has firmly established itself in the international coffee market and the quality of its product, sourced from various regions around the world such as Brazil, Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Vietnam, is now recognized and appreciated globally.
